How to Know What Your Boss Thinks of You

For an idea of how your boss might rate your performance, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you collapse under pressure or remain calm?
  • Are you a clock watcher or do you put in the necessary amount of time to do a job well?
  • How much interest do you show in learning and taking on new responsibilities?
  • What do you do to make your boss shine?
  • How do you make your boss’s life easier?
  • Do you gossip and point fingers or make peace and pitch in to help your co-workers?
  • Do you dress as professionally as you could?
  • Have you had opportunities for professional development that you haven’t taken?
  • Do you make excuses for incomplete or flawed work or you accountable?
  • Do you admit when you’ve made a mistake that others need to be informed of or do you seek to avoid being found out?
